The OEM Engineering Apprenticeship is targeted at the Original Equipment Manufacturing, Installation and Service Sector which sell to national and international markets.
ABOUT US
This apprenticeship programme is directly in response to ‘The Future Skills Requirements of the Manufacturing Sector Report to 2020’ addressing the emerging demands for skills in the sector in Ireland. This proposed apprenticeship is also accommodating the specific skills needs identified by the Mid-Tier Engineering Group. There are 12,790 manufacturing enterprises dispersed around Ireland. The OEM sector forms a considerable number of these enterprises.
Why OEM
Apprenticeship?
This programme is designed to suit learners with the aptitude for and interest in engineering.
The apprenticeship model, earn while you learn, offers an excellent alternative to those interested in engineering, in particular the practical element, and who do not want to continue their education in Higher Education institutions.
This Apprenticeship is actively promoted to both male and female students. CMETB actively engage with schools, teachers, Guidance Counsellors, the Engineering and Technology Association (ETTA), parents to increase the awareness of the programme, career possibilities following completion and all benefits associated with choosing this apprenticeship. The programme is available to all learners who are employed and registered with SOLAS as OEM apprentices whilst meeting the minimum educational entry requirements.
