Trimfold Envelopes Limited is Ireland’s largest manufacturer and supplier of envelopes, print and mail-media solutions, producing over 600,000,000 envelopes per year.

Our plant is based in the Heritage town of Trim in County Meath and specialises in high volume production of stock products and bespoke items. In addition to our manufacturing facility we also have a dedicated envelope printing department on site servicing the whole of the island of Ireland with extremely fast turnaround times.

We employ over 60 experienced production staff, using state of the art equipment ensuring we have the capability to meet any customer requirement ranging from a few hundred envelopes to several million at a time.

In 2006 Trimfold Envelopes became part of the Mayer Kuvert network, Europe’s largest independently owned envelope manufacturing group. With over 50 plants throughout Europe, the Mayer Kuvert network produces over 45,000,000 envelopes per day and continues to be at the cutting edge of envelope manufacture in Europe.

We are now seeking applications from interested candidates for OEM Apprenticeship. The successful candidate will receive an excellent training in all aspects of machine building over a 3-year apprenticeship.

The position will be located at our factory in Ballyvourney, Co Cork and will also require ‘off-the-job’ training at ETB training centre.

This is an ideal opportunity to ‘earn as you learn’ and receive an internationally recognised Level 6 qualification.

Minimum educational requirements: Leaving Cert, 5 x O6 including Mathematics.

Job Specification

Turmec Teoranta are now recruiting an apprentice on the Original Equipment Manufacturing Apprenticeship (Level 6) programme.

During the apprenticeship you will be employed by Turmec, earning a salary, and learning a range of engineering skills that are highly valued by the manufacturing industry.

The OEM apprenticeship is a three-year Level 6 apprenticeship with a focus on the engineering and manufacturing sectors, where you would learn a range of skills such as engineering drawing and design, design of electrical and hydraulic systems in addition to a practical understanding of all areas of equipment design.

Entry Requirements

Applicants must meet one of the following requirements:

Leaving Certificate (pre-2017) with grade D3 or higher in five subjects which must include Mathematics. Post 2017 applicants must have achieved five O6 in the Leaving Certificate which must include Mathematics.

OR

A full award placed at Level 5 on the National Framework of Qualifications (EQF 4) which includes proficiency in Mathematics similar to O6 in Leaving Certificate.

OR

Must have successfully completed an approved pre-apprenticeship training course in an engineering discipline and demonstrate proficiency in Mathematics similar to O6 in Leaving Certificate.

OR

In the case where an applicant is 23 years or over (or employed in the OEM sector for 3 years) and does not meet the educational requirements specified above, they may apply through the Recognised Prior Learning (RPL) process.

All applicants must pass the Ishihara Colour Vision test (24 Plate addition) prior to registering on the programme.

The programme is delivered in English. In the event that an applicant has English as a second language, a CEFR Level C1 of proficiency in the English language is required. It is the responsibility of the applicant to provide official evidence demonstrating English language competence at C1 level.
