Thomas Reilly (Emerald Forklifts) Gerard Egan (Arjo) Sam Winters (Irish Rail) James Halligan (Eva-Tec) Aaron Ennis (Irish Rail)

The OEM Engineering Apprenticeship programme warmly welcomed ten new apprentices from Arjo, Combilift, Emerald Forklifts, Eva-Tec, Irish Rail, Kent Stainless and Moffett Automation to Monaghan Institute for an induction day on Monday 04th March.

These ten apprentices begin their three-year apprenticeship journey with a 16 week off-the-job block at Cavan Monaghan Education and Training Board’s (CMETB), Monaghan Institute campus, before returning to their respective employers in June.
Over the next four months the apprentices will study Health & Safety, Engineering Drawings, OEM Practices and Electrical & Electronic Technology. These four modules are underpinned by Communications, Team Leadership and Applied Engineering which follow through over the three years.

On completion of this programme, the learners will receive a QQI Level 6 Advanced Certificate in OEM Engineering and will qualify as OEM Engineering Technicians, a widely sought-after skill set in the manufacturing, installation, servicing and commissioning sectors, both nationally and globally.

The OEM Apprenticeship team wish the new apprentices all the very best of luck and look forward to working with them over the next three years.

The OEM Engineering Technician is trained in many areas including mechanics, electrical, electronics, hydraulics, pneumatics, automation and robotics, and hence can quickly identify the origin of a fault or problem. Graduates of the programme are qualified to work across many different disciplines in a wide variety of industries and positions.
